The Referral
The process begins with a referral from a healthcare provider. A patient can request to receive their infusion at home or at an AIS location based on their preference for treatment options. Once the referral is obtained from the provider, Apex’s Infusion Pharmacy Team works with the patient and their healthcare provider to coordinate the next steps.

Insurance & Pharmacy Coordination
Once the referral is received, our team processes it through the patient’s pharmacy benefits. Apex’s Infusion Pharmacy Team then works to obtain prior authorization for the medication.

Medication Delivery
After approval, our pharmacy schedules the delivery of the medication and necessary supplies to the patient’s home or private infusion suite. This ensures that everything needed for the infusion is on hand before the nurse arrives.

In-Home Administration
A registered nurse travels to the patient’s home to administer the infusion. The nurse provides personalized care, monitors the patient’s response, and ensures the treatment is administered safely and effectively.

Ambulatory Infusion Suite Administration
A registered nurse meets the patient at the Private Ambulatory Infusion Suite. The nurse provides personalized care, monitors the patient’s response, and ensures the treatment is administered safely and effectively.

Ongoing Support
Throughout the treatment process, patients receive ongoing support from their healthcare provider and our Specialty Pharmacy Team. This includes regular check-ins, follow-up appointments, and adjustments to the treatment plan as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
